If you need to get a document translated (such as a driver’s license or a school transcript), we can refer you to an appropriate translation service. Please note that these agencies will charge a fee for their services; however, you can ask for a quote before you decide where and/or if you want to get the document translated. Please contact a Settlement Counsellor for more information.
If you need an interpreter for doctor appointments, legal proceedings, or other appointments, then we can try to help you find an interpreter. Some agencies (such as most government offices) may pay for interpreters. Other agencies may not. In that case, there will be a fee required to pay the interpreter. We may be able to find a volunteer interpreter in special situations. Although we will do our best to help you, please remember that it is difficult to find an interpreter on short notice (especially for certain languages). Please contact the Settlement Services Coordinator or a Settlement Counsellor for assistance.
Volunteer Interpreters needed!
Do you speak two (or more) languages fluently? Would you like to be on our list of local interpreters? For more information, please contact the Settlement Services Coordinator or a Settlement Counsellor for assistance.
