Translation and Interpretation

Translation

If you need to get a document translated (such as a driver’s license or a school transcript), we can help you find a local translator (for certain languages), or we can scan your document and send it to a translation service.  Please note there is a fee for this service; however, we will be able to provide you with a quote before you decide if you want to get the document translated.  Please contact the Settlement Services Coordinator or a Settlement Counsellor .

Interpretation

If you need an interpreter for doctor appointments, legal proceedings, or other appointments, then we can help you find an interpreter.  Some agencies (such as most government offices) will pay for interpreters.  Other agencies may not.  In that case, there will be a fee required to pay the interpreter. We may be able to find a volunteer interpreter in special situations.  Although we will do our best to help you, please remember that it is difficult to find an interpreter on short notice (especially for certain languages).  Please contact the Settlement Services Coordinator or a Settlement Counsellor for assistance.

Volunteer Interpreters needed!

Do you speak two (or more) languages fluently?  Would you like to be on our list of local interpreters?  For more information, please contact the Settlement Services Coordinator or a Settlement Counsellor for assistance.

Our partner organization for interpretation and translation services is Central Eastern Ontario Translation and Interpretation Services (CEO).
