As Executive Director, Ziysah is responsible for human resources, finances, public relations, and the overall management of the NCC. Ziysah has been involved in many capacities at the Centre since 2002 when she started as a summer student. Her various roles in the NCC since then have included  a community-based researcher, volunteer, counsellor, and coordinator. She became the Executive Director in September 2009.

Ziysah was born in Toronto and came to Peterborough to complete a degree in Equity Studies at Trent University. She is deeply committed to social justice, and is also a writer and parent.
