Nov 25: Economic Relocalization Forum

Transition Town Peterborough
Economic Relocalization Forum
Moving away from  business as usual
Thursday Nov 25th  7:00 pm start
Doors Open at 6:30 pm
Peterborough Public Library

This is an invitation to farmers, business people, government  workers, educators and health workers ,seniors, youth, local politicians and most of all concerned citizens. The invitation is to help your community start to break away from business as usual  in our social, environmental and economic systems. So come on out on the 25th !

An Economic Relocalization  Strategy is all about people working together, including local governments ,business, educational institutions and health providers along with concerned and engaged citizens to  put in place new economic infrastructure and incentives to move to a  new more prosperous and resilient community. Its strategic in nature. There are no silver bullets. Ideas without engaged citizens making it happen amount to nothing .

Ask yourself a few questions before you come …If we are to continue with business as usual as we seemingly are

How do we prevent more people here in our town from falling below the poverty line ?

What will we do when the price of oil hits  $ 147 US per barrel  again ?

How will we reduce C02 emissions by 80% by 2031 ?

How can we create more quality jobs for our young people ,so they have a choice to leave town or not  ?

Municipal Speakers  Councillor Len Vass
Deputy Reeve Elect Scott Mc Fadden

This evening is by donation to the Peterborough & Kawarthas Environmental Trust

This inviation is open to everyone. Please extend to friends and family.
If you have time  let us know that you will be attending by return. But if you don’t  …come anyway!
